Made to order in the spring, every single item is unique and we have very limited stock in this item! Our range of alpaca clothing is incredibly special. Made from one of the world’s most luxurious fibres, these garments are perfect as gifts. They are designed in Italy, and then sustainably made in Bolivia, providing a livelihood for artisans and keeping traditional production methods alive. They are not certified as organic but fleece undergoes no chemical treatments and the dyes used are all 100% natural, made from bark, leaves, flowers and cochineal. Why alpaca wool is so special: it’s very warm. For the alpacas to survive in such an extreme climate they have developed light-weight wool with microscopic air pockets to keep the warmth in. It’s flexible and resistant, much more hard-wearing than sheep wool and shrinks less. The fibre tends not to tear, pill, stain or create static and it’s easily cleaned.
